Pearl Interactive Network, a National Government Contact Center Provider Supports Rural, Economically Challenged Areas With Recent Contact Center Awards

COLUMBUS, Ohio (June 8, 2021) – Pearl Interactive Network, Inc. (Pearl) a HUBZone Certified, Woman Owned Small Business specializing in multichannel government contact center services, leveraged its threefold growth to create jobs in Southeast Ohio. Pearl’s recent contact center wins both as a prime and subcontractor support federal agencies including the US Department of Veterans Affairs, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). These new contact center contracts deliver services through a secure, virtual work-at-home network and created a venue for Pearl to launch PearlWorks, a virtual contact center skills training program linked to virtual jobs, competitive wages, benefits, and career pathways. Pearl’s training and job opportunities are bringing relief to economically challenged areas in Southeast Ohio that were hit even harder by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Pearl’s tremendous virtual contact center growth has facilitated a deepening of our core social mission of hiring people with barriers to employment as a priority. Transportation and childcare have historically been the greatest obstacles to obtaining employment for people living in economic deserts,” says Pearl CEO, Merry Korn. Dr. Denise Reading, CEO of Future Plans and Project Advisor to Growing Rural Independence Together – the GRIT Program, a community organization with a primary mission of creating jobs in rural Southeast Ohio comments: “Through our association with Pearl, we have been able to demonstrate how virtual jobs coupled with contact center skills training can have a major economic impact in our community.” Crystal Keaton, Executive Director of Workforce Development Board Area #1 located in Southern Ohio, states: “We have been so positively impressed with how Pearl as an employer, truly cares about creating a positive impact in our community. We have testimonies from people in our community that talk about a sense of hope and engagement since working with Pearl. In a short period of time, some of our workforce referrals to Pearl have already been offered supervisory positions. We believe that virtual employment is key to economically bolstering our community.”

Pearl has, since its inception in 2004, held a longstanding social mission of hiring people with barriers to employment such as: skilled and talented veterans, disabled veterans, military spouses, persons with disabilities and people living in economically challenged areas. Pearl’s core competency is multichannel contact centers, providing consultative, compassionate, and often complex interactions with citizens. Throughout its history, Pearl obtained recognition and awards for outstanding performance, marrying a social and business mission. “We attribute our high performance to placing an emphasis on employee engagement, creating a culture of caring, and through training programs that encourage creating personal emotional connections between our agents and callers,” states Pearl’s Vice President of Operations, Brenda Wingert. The effort to cultivate a culture of caring is best captured by Ashley Seal, a Pearl virtual employee located in Southeast Ohio who comments: “In my entire professional career I’ve never worked for an employer as supportive to my success.”
