Pearl Interactive Network, Inc. (Pearl) provides contact center solutions for the Federal Government and its contractors by delivering a talented pool of veterans and disabled veterans.
“Companies that do business with the Federal Government are required be compliant with Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) regulations that mandate a contractor workforce be comprised of 8% veterans and 7% people with disabilities,” explained Merry P. Korn, CEO of Pearl Interactive Network. That requirement makes it challenging for federal contractors to locate, hire, and retain this type of niche employee.
The rule strengthens the affirmative action provisions of the regulations to aid contractors in their efforts to recruit and hire individuals with disabilities (IWDs), and improves job opportunities for individuals with disabilities, according to the OFCCP.
“The opportunities to employ veterans are plentiful,” said Bill Errico, military veteran and EVP of government practice for Pearl. “The challenge is to execute in a way that is positive for the employer and veteran.”
Procurement expenditures on contracts were over $448 billion in fiscal year 2014, according to USASpending.gov. Pearl Interactive Network provides entry into this marketplace by recruiting, hiring, and training veterans, disabled veterans and other challenged populations.
“Pearl is dedicated to serving employers seeking qualified candidates from our pool of niche candidates, especially disabled veterans,” said Jasmine Garza, a Pearl recruiting assistant and military spouse. “Pearl extends opportunities to veterans who are trained, disciplined, reliable and dedicated. Veterans are attractive to employers seeking quality employees.” The large quantity of veterans means there are many appealing candidates available.
According to Monster.com Internal Data (April 2014), three million people have recently left the military service. More than two-thirds (64%) of surveyed veterans said they are likely to search for a job in the next 12 months. In an economy still struggling to recover, these military veterans are likely to face employment challenges.
Monster.com also reports “nearly all employers (99%) believe that veterans perform their job the same or better than non-veteran workers. Similarly, employers report that veterans perform as well or surpass non-veterans in terms of career advancement, job retention, and job turnover.”
Pearl Interactive Network, Inc. has led the way in employing challenged populations, particularly veterans and the disabled, in meaningful work. Based in central Ohio but providing services nationally, Pearl currently employs more than 360 of these individuals through its federal resourcing contracts for Government Business Services.
